REALITY COMBAT SYSTEM
(562) 334-5674
Reality Combat System (RCS) is referred to by many agents as "Dirty MMA". RCS is by no means a sport, a "traditional martial art", or an aerobic kickboxing class. If those are the courses you are looking for then this is definitely not the right course. However, if your intent is to learn simple instinctive techniques that are not choreographed katas, that are easy to learn quickly and will devastate ANY attacker, then this is your cup of tea.
You probably already know how traditional martial-arts dojos operate as well. First you're impressed by all the trophies in the window. Then the many swords and ninja shurikens and colored belts hanging on the wall. The sensei,or sifu, or master will tell you how he's the direct student of some famous master who taught him since he was a little boy and so on and so on. You sign up and buy a judo-gi, or karate-gi, or some elaborate silk uniform and your first belt (Usually it's white). You pay your dues ($135-$385 per month in most respectable dojos), and off to learn techniques that you see on Saturday morning cartoons. Three to four years later, if you're still at the same dojo, and after paying somewhere between $4,860-$9,240 (and that's not counting the testing, color belts, and new uniforms) you receive your first BLACK BELT!!!! GREAT, now you can (MAYBE) START learning real self defense techniques.
Our RCS-Civilians Program consists of five levels. Normally a student will enroll into two lessons a week (Each lesson is a two hours session) with a level completed within 5-8 lessons each month (this depends on the student's ability to grasp the lessons). Other reality-based systems have you attend up to four months before you are allowed to test for your next level! (They have to do so in order to keep you long enough to pay for their rent and other overhead costs). Let me remind you these are not "love-tap" techniques. These techniques are to prepare you in case you may be in an altercation with a boxer, a kickboxer, a grappler, a traditional martial artist, an MMA practitioner, and yes even a professional operator. Our Civilian Program's lessons are $25 ($12.50 per hour) per lesson (two-hours sessions per lesson) with most students completing a level within 5-8 lessons per month. Let's not compare a fast performing vehicle with a station wagon. With our system of teaching, most of our students are completing a level within a month, and not testing for a new belt every three or five months as they would through other systems. In all honesty for most civilians levels 1 & 2 would be more than enough for anyone to feel confident he/she will know how to defend oneself from any attacker. (We do have executive students whom have enrolled into our economical $125.00 and $250.00 packages).
After you've gone through the course you will not need to continue taking more classes from us. In the military some elite Marines will go through MCMAP (Marine Corp Martial Arts Program), in Law Enforcement POST (Peace Officers Standards and Training). Once these individuals go through their training they are not expected to continue enrolling in more classes to learn self defense/combat. However, they are expected to keep practicing! Yes, we do have programs for those that want to take their combat knowledge to a higher level.
We do have payment through installments to make it easier for the practitioner to enroll and keep up with the lessons.
There are a few practitioners that have opted to pay in installments. There is a former British SAS whom works full time as an EP agent. He is in So Cal for a week every other month. He'll take two to three lessons each time (two hours sessions per lesson) and pay for those lessons.
There is a professional couple whom take two lessons per week (two hours sessions per lesson). Since we do have specials for two or more they each pay a much smaller fee.
Finally there is a gentleman whom is enrolled in the instructor-certification course whom pays after every four lessons (two hours session per lesson).
RCS will work with you a program of payments that would be beneficial to both RCS and the student. Just let us know how we may work with you.
Each lesson is a two-hours session and not one-hour sessions like other schools. Each lesson is $25.00. Most students choose to train twice a week. If you are a civilian (non-military & non-law enforcement) you may enroll into the RCS-Civilian Program which consists of five levels.
Our RCS-Law Enforcement/Security Program consists of five levels. These lessons too are two-hours sessions at $30.00 per lesson. Most officers due to their schedules usually meet to train once a week.
For a RCS-Certified Instructor Program it is an enrollment of $875.00. This program consists of training in both the previous mentioned programs plus more advanced study of combat techniques, scientific principles of the human anatomy, philosophy and regulations pertinent to being a certified instructor to civilians, law enforcement, and military personnel. Come-alongs, takedowns, submissions, sentry removal, water combat, VIP-Protection, stealth, and improvised weapons are an integral part to this level of training.
For both the RCS-Civilian Program and the RCS-Law Enforcement/Security Program we offer a "TWO OR MORE SPECIAL!!! Meaning two people would share a cost of $35.00 per lesson and have each pay $17.50 per lessons. THIS IS A MAJOR BARGAIN NOT OFFERED BY ANY OTHER REALITY-BASED SELF DEFENSE PROGRAMS!!!
I do hope this information will be of help to you in choosing a true reality-based self defense course!
